Hand crafted border pipe chanter reeds made by Chris Apps. Manufactured to the same exacting standards as our smallpipe reed. Finished with a bridle that sets the pitch, blowing strength and mouth size. These border pipe reeds are made specifically for bellows pipes. The reeds will give an F and C natural on an A scale (and equivalent notes in other keys). As border pipe designs can vary greatly the Apps border pipe chanter reed may not suit all chanters and some adjustment to the reed may be necessary once it arrives. The reeds may be purchased as is or you can send your chanter in to be fitted.
