The split-stock protects the chanter reed from harm and allows for easy installation in any pipe bag. Once your chanter reed is set inside the stock it need not be removed for days or even weeks
The PitchGuard™ makes a great internal reed cap. Shut off completely between sets to encase the reed in warmth and moisture. This will aid in keeping the chanter reed stable for longer during breaks in play.
The valve cut off allows you to tune the drones without interference and to re-tune the drones very quickly -
Being able to cut off the chanter is a great help to students. Practice marching and/or blowing tone without having to worry about fingering. They might participate in performances quite quickly as they can turn the chanter off whenever they need to rest or they don't know/forget a tune – even in the middle of a parade
It will also, if you choose, prevent any overblowing of the chanter reed by regulating the amount of air pressure coming through the chanter
The PitchGuard™ Split-Stock System has more than one function and is beneficial to all pipers and at all levels. It can be used differently in different situations.
Best of all it is fully mechanical. No charging up. No plugging in. No trying to find signal. It works everywhere and in all weather conditions. Install it once and your PitchGuard™ Split-Stock System will be there for your entire bagpipe journey – wherever that might take you.
To ensure best results please watch this short video on how to use the lever correctly.
